15.00–16.30 Session «Introduction of Quantum Technologies for Data Protection:
Barriers and Perspectives”

The emergence of new types of threats, among which quantum
computers are most often mentioned, requires a change in certain
classes of cryptographic algorithms. Among possible solutions to
these problems are quantum key distribution and post-quantum
cryptography. Each of the approaches has clear advantages and some
drawbacks as well.
The session will cover the most pressing issues of introducing
quantum-resistant solutions for data protection. We will discuss:
— The model of interaction between quantum and post-quantum
cryptography
— The main barrier of today for the introduction of quantum key
distribution
— The places of todays’ pilot project realization for implementation of
quantum-resistant solutions
— The use of satellite quantum cryptography to ensure the
distribution of keys over long distances
— The applications worth introducing quantum-resistant technologies
already today
16.30–18.00 Session “Quantum computing on its way to practical problems
solution”

Quantum computers are able to accelerate certain classes of
computational problems, for example, in the field of optimization and
modeling. Such tasks present a certain interest for industry. The power
of the current generation of quantum computers is not yet enough to
surpass classical computers and supercomputers in useful practical
tasks. However, many large companies are already developing
quantum algorithms, which will give them the opportunity to quickly
adapt the technology when the corresponding computing power
arises.
